About Us
The Student Education Empowerment Network, Inc. (SEEN) is a not-for-profit family advocacy group, based out of the Chicago suburb of Barrington, Illinois. Established in 2025, our network was created by four parents who joined efforts to lobby for disability rights so all children are truly seen.
It was quickly realized that parents and caregivers are commonly overwhelmed in understanding their student's educational rights. SEEN became the answer to these ongoing challenges, and our group was born.
Today, our efforts are dedicated to empowering all students and their families in all communities, with a focus on supporting students with disabilities in a variety of academic settings.
Our organization is committed to providing resources, referrals and support to our community members.
Below you'll find more information about SEEN's mission, vision, and get to know our Board of Directors.
Every student deserves to be SEEN.
Our Mission
The mission of the Student Education Empowerment Network, Inc. (SEEN) is to create a community through which families share information and improve educational opportunities and outcomes by empowering, educating, and empathizing with other parents and caregivers. SEEN is a supportive, informative, and encouraging environment for all, regardless of abilities.

Our Vision
Through education, advocacy, and collaboration, SEEN works to empower families and eliminate common educational and societal barriers. We strive to improve outcomes for all learners, especially those with disabilities.

We know. We're like, really pretty.
REALLY PRETTY PASSIONATE.
We get it. We're parents ourselves.
Navigating the school world can be a challenge for any family. Throw in a couple of disabilities or learning differences, and BOOM....you feel alone, uncomfortable, and unprepared. No two stories are ever the same. We aren't lawyers or experts, but we are passionate about helping people connect to navigate the rough terrain of the educational landscape. Together.
Our Board of Directors is dedicated to keeping you informed to local, state and federal changes in the educational system.
We strongly believe in the adage "no decision about us, without us."
